Canada Issues 825 Express Entry Invitations

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 825 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in the latest Express Entry draw held on April 14, 2025. This round, focused on candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), is the first to take place following recent changes to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), including the removal of points for arranged employment.

To be eligible for the draw, candidates required a minimum CRS score of 764 and needed to have created their Express Entry profile before 6:35 p.m. UTC on August 17, 2024.

This draw follows a busy first quarter for Express Entry, which included multiple rounds targeting French language proficiency, the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and PNP candidates. In total, IRCC has issued 31,508 ITAs so far in 2025, aligning with the federal government’s plan to welcome 124,680 new permanent residents through Express Entry this year.

It’s important to note that an ITA is not a guarantee of permanent residency. It is an invitation to submit a full application for PR. Actual immigration numbers are based on successful landings—when an individual officially becomes a permanent resident after arriving in Canada and completing the process.

Candidates who receive an ITA have 60 days to submit a complete application. Required documents include:

  • Valid passport or travel document
  • Birth certificate
  • Proof of work experience
  • Police clearance certificates
  • Medical exam results
  • Settlement fund documentation
  • Photos of all applicants included in the file

Those interested in applying or responding to an ITA should visit the official IRCC portal for step-by-step guidance and to ensure timely and complete submissions.
